no, I’m not having thoughts about hanging up my workin’ shoes and sitting on the couch reading a newspaper for once. (well, yes, I have those thoughts, but I know they are squarely, and sadly, in the “fantasy” category.)
I’m thinking about retiring this blog.
this would not result in much of a change for you, dear readers, as I can barely manage to eke out a post a month as it is. but perhaps I would feel slightly less loser-ish is I just officially pulled the plug rather than having weeks-old posts staring at me accusatorily (is that a word?).
i’m still posting on facebook, so maybe that’s enough.

I totally understand an have had many of those thoughts too. I will miss you tremendously here–but Facebook is good.

I’ve been having similar thoughts. But, I find when I have no time/energy to read blogs, I really appreciate the less frequently updated ones – I can follow without guilt at not reading daily. Totally selfish of me, of course, but I hope it tells you that I would rather read sporadic updates that keep me abreast of your life (and all the exciting things to come in it). I think I would be lost without snippets from you (FB doesn’t allow the same level of detail).

It gets hard to find the time. Mine is pretty much just a photo blog now a days.We will continue to be loyal readers if you throw us a tidbit now and again!

it’s like an epidemic…
If you do decide to go off the grid, i hope you’ll post a last ‘stat of the state number. FB is good, but long blog posts are better!

or state of the state, you know, if you admire editing and all of that nonsense…

Perhaps you could just rename it a magazine instead of a blog. Then once a month would be just fine.

I’m probably the only person in NA who doesn’t do FB, so your blog retirement would be a loss for me. I’m with Tafel–do something once a month and call it a magazine. But, do what (sniff) works best (sniff) for you…sigh.

Humph. Grumbling. Reluctantly accepting.

Weeks old… try six months old posts over here! It’s hard living in reality and virtual reality too. FWIW I will miss your blog… but I completely understand as I’ve been considering the same “retirement” here.

will miss you if you go (I’m on FB and if you deem a completely stranger living abroad ok to be friends with, send me an email), however understand the lack of time thing.
I’m with Tafel and the others who vote posting once a month! It’ll be a monthly blog, that’s fine ! no?

I get it! Sometimes blogging runs its course and it’s better to let it go than to force it.
I will just continue to stalk you on FB.

I really enjoy the intermittent posts, especially the one where you admitted to taking the kids to Disney which made me feel like slightly less of a loser for taking our tots there last fall…if cool people like you do it then it must be OK!

Another longtime lurker here. I am on facebook as well and would love to know what is happening with you – I am not overseas but am in the province next door to Hazel.

I can understanding retiring. I am there myself. I don’t have time and energy. I only write about certain things, but not others. I feel like I am invading my child’s privacy. It’s too public for me. It’s an odd slice of my life. I vote for the intermittent post when you are inspired to share. I have loved seeing your life unfold and appreciate your sharing!

I still read your blog! And I’m in the same boat you are…so rarely posting these days. FB is just quicker and less of a time suck. (Though it’s not quite the equal of a blog…) I think I have your email somewhere…will try to look you up on FB.

Well, personally I would be very sad to see the Blog hit the road, but I marvel at how you have a minute to get anything on here…so you should make your life easier ~

Oh, waaaaah. I love your blog, even if it’s a once-a-quarter blog. Your humor and absolute loveliness just doesn’t shine through as much on FB. But certainly — you do have a lot on your plate. Maybe just a hiatus until some of the craziness dies down?
