On this day, four years ago, Elsa and I arrived at San Francisco International airport.
My little box of sunshine and I have been family for four years now.
I am so blessed.

hi there p. — this is a very general comment, not related to this particular post. i was just looking at the photo of your darling girl that you have up on the home page of your blog, and i just have to say she is totally, totally channeling you! i don’t know you, of course….i’ve been reading your blog for a couple of years and looking at the photos you post….but it’s completely clear to me, a total stranger — that’s your kid! she IS you, in a little sweet brown-skinned package. it’s kind of trippy, actually!!! as a fellow adoptive parent of amazing girls born in ethiopia — go nurture

OMG! I’m just getting caught up. The last time I was here was the photo of her behind the wheel of a car. I thought THAT was heartbreaking. Oh my goodness. Sucky suck sucks! Big fat SUCKS. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are supported and surrounded in love laughter and joy. Recover and heal fast woman! You are a rock star.
