In the continuing series of Friday posts which gently guide you to f’ing fantastic stuff I have come across on the Interwebs, please enjoy the following (don’t forget to let me know what you think):
Check out Little Green Notebook for beautiful things and beautiful spaces.
If you ever doubt that people are good – check out what happens when you put the right labels on electronics and leave them around… people return them!! In fact, 75% of the time! That’s the data behind StuffBak, a service which lands squarely in the category of SIBAYST (Stuff I Buy And You Should Too). Here’s how it works: you buy labels – which have an 800-number and URL on them – and stick ‘em on your stuff. If someone finds your stuff, they call the number or go online and the StuffBak people have it shipped back to you – and give a reward to the finder. You can either set the reward yourself or if you don’t want to pay anything, they will provide Stuffbak labels to the finder. You only pay if someone finds your stuff and it gets shipped back to you. I have these labels on my cameras, my keys, my luggage, etc. (no, I’m not getting anything for hawking them…)
The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs is probably only funny to those of us deep in the software/internetty/geek world. But, face it – we don’t have much in terms of social skills, so we need funny.
